This painting was inspired by my local beach in Departure Bay, Nanaimo, BC on Vancouver Island. I was having fun painting my stylized water reflections and couldn’t resist adding these two. I don’t typically paint wildlife but I couldn’t resist adding this mom and babe to this piece as I am frequently running into local seals when paddling around the bay. This mama is keeping her babe safe and close.
